A joint initiative by the Universidad de Huelva’s Modern Languages Service and International Relations Office, EXPERIENCE UHU is a pre-university summer programme for international students preparing to start university.
It provides a first taste of university life in Europe while strengthening academic skills, Spanish language ability and the confidence needed to succeed in an international learning environment.

A structured, immersive university experience
Over three weeks, students take part in a carefully curated programme that combines academic preparation, a 45-hour Spanish language course and hands-on workshops, alongside a dynamic mix of cultural, social and outdoor experiences. Each element is designed to build confidence, independence and the skills needed to transition successfully into university life.
From campus life and communication skills to curated excursions across Andalusia and Portugal, students engage with both the academic and cultural dimensions of their new environment. Each day blends learning with real-world exposure — offering a fully immersive introduction to university life in Europe and a strong foundation for their future studies.

1. What is EXPERIENCE UHU?
EXPERIENCE UHU is a pre-university summer programme designed to give international students a first, meaningful immersion into university life in Europe — combining academic preparation, language development and cultural discovery.
2. Who is this programme for?
For internationally minded students aged 17–18, in their final stage before university, who want to begin their academic journey with confidence, independence and a global perspective.
3. When and where is the programme?
From 10 to 28 August 2026, at the University of Huelva, in southern Spain. Set between the Atlantic coast and vibrant cultural cities, Huelva offers a unique environment just one hour from Seville and close to Portugal — a dynamic gateway between Europe and Africa.
4. What does the programme include?
A carefully designed experience combining academic sessions, an intensive Spanish language course, full-board accommodation on campus, and a rich programme of cultural, social and sports activities.
5. What will I gain academically?
You will develop the mindset and skills needed to thrive at university — from understanding academic expectations to strengthening critical thinking, communication and independent learning.
6. Do I need to speak Spanish?
No prior knowledge is required. The programme welcomes students of all levels and supports them in building confidence in Spanish from day one.

Students stay at the University Residence on campus, with full board included — offering a comfortable and immersive university living experience.

10. Will I receive a certificate?
