SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Formato de las Propuestas
All
contributions should be original, written in English or Spanish and prepared in
accordance with the following guidelines:
1. TITLE AND
PERSONAL INFORMATION.
·
The first page should contain: title of the article (in bold face),
author's name (in small capitals), and institutional affiliation (in
italics). Relevant correspondence information (e-mail, postal address
and fax number) should also be included here. In the case of multiple
authorship, AMERICAN@ will maintain correspondence with the first-named
contributor.
·
Any kind of information which might reveal contributors' identities
should be avoided in the rest of the manuscript.
2. MANUSCRIPT
PREPARATION
2.1. Abstract
The
main text should be preceded by a brief abstract (100-150 words), typed
in 10-point Times italics, single-spaced and indented 1 inch/2.5 cm.
from the left-hand margin. The right margin should be justified.
Abstracts should have no footnotes and the title of works should appear
in 12-point Times bold.
2.2. Body of the text
 | In the body of the text, all
margins should be of 2.54 cm/1..25."

| Contributions should follow the
Word format for Windows 6.0.
|
| Submitted
manuscripts should be fully justified and typed in Times typeface
(12-point for main text, quotations and bibliographical references;
10-point for endnotes, superscript numbers, tables, and figures).
|
| Words in a language other than
English should be italicized; italics should also be used in order
to emphasize some key words.
|
| Figures, illustrations, and tables
should be numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals and
accompanied by an explanatory foot (in 10-point Times).
|
| Headings of
sections should be typed in small capitals, numbered consecutively
with Arabic numerals, and separated with four spaces from previous
text. Headings of subsections should appear in italics, numbered (e.g.
1.1, 1.2...), and separated with two spaces from previous text.
|
| For asides other
than parenthetical asides, dashes (and not hyphens) should be used,
and no blank space should be left between the first and the last
word contained in the aside and the dashes. For compounds use
hyphens. Notice the following example.
Example: Teaching in English--as many subjects as possible--seems to
offer a second-best solution insofar as it entails much more
exposure fo the foreign language.

| Paragraphs should not be separated
by a blank line.
|
| Apostrophes (') should be used for
abbreviations and the saxon genitive. |
3. ENDNOTES
Endnotes
(not footnotes) should only be explanatory (references should be
provided only in the main text). Notes should be marked throughout the
text with consecutive superscript numbers. Superscript numbers within
the text should follow punctuation marks, interrogation or exclamation
marks.
4. QUOTATIONS and
BIBLIOGRAPHICAL REFERENCES
For
the use of quotations and bibliographical references, follow the most
recent MLA style sheet.
Papers
should be submitted by attachment via e-mail in Word format to
Miriam Fernández at: AMERICAN@inv.uhu.es
with the subject:
"AMERICAN@ fall 2006."
Todas las contribuciones deberán
ser originales, estar escritas en inglès o español y preparadas de
acuerdo con las siguientes instrucciones:
1. TÍTULO E
INFORMACIÓN PERSONAL.
| La primera página
deberá contener: título del ensayo (en negrita), nombre del
autor/a (en mayúsculas pequeñas), afiliación institucional (en
cuersiva). También deberían incluirse los datos referents a la
correspondencia (dirección de correo electrónico, dirección
postal, y números de teléfono y fax.) En el caso de propuestas con
más de un autor, AMERICAN@ mantendrá correspondencia con quien
aparezca primero en la lista de autores..

| Cualquier tipo de información que
revele la identidad de los autores deberá ser evitado en el resto
del ensayo. |
2. PREPARACIÓN DE LOS MANUSCRITOS.
2.1. Resumen.
El
cuerpo del ensayo deberá estar precedido por un breve resumen (100-150
palabras), con tamaño de letra 10, tipo de letra Times en cursiva, a un
espacio e indentado 2'54 cm/1 pulgada en el margen izquierdo. El margen
derecho deberá estar justificado. Los resúmenes no deberán incluir
notas al final y el título de los trabajos deberá aparecer en tipo
Times, tamaño 12, y negrita.
2.2. Cuerpo del texto.
| En el cuerpo del texto todos los márgenes
deberán ser de 2.54 cm/1.25 inch.

| Los manuscritos deberán estar
justificados a izquierda y derecha y escritos en tipo de letra Times
(tamaño 12 para el texto principal, citas y referencias; tamaño 10
para notas a pie, superíndices y tablas.) |
| Las palabras que no estén en español
deberán ir en cursiva. La cursiva también se usará para
enfatizar. |
| Las figures, ilustraciones y tablas
deberán numerarse consecutivamente con números arábigos e ir
acompañadas por una nota explicativa (tamaño 10, Times.) |
| Los títulos de las
secciones deberán estar en mayúsculas pequeñas, numerados
consecutivamente con números arábigos y separados con cuatro
espacios del párrafo anterior. Los títulos de las subsecciones
deberán aparecer en cursiva, numerados (e.g. 1.1, 1.2...), y
separados con dos espacios del párrafo anterior. |
| Para los incisos que no vayan entre
paréntesis, deberán usarse guiones largos sin espacio entre los
guiones y las palabras anterior y posterior. Para los compuestos,
usar guiones cortos. |
| Los párrafos no deberán ir
separados unos de otros por una línea en blanco. |
3. NOTAS AL FINAL
Las
notas al final (no a pie) deberán ser sólo explicatorias (las
referencias deberán incluirse en el texto principal). Las notas deberán
marcarse en el superíndice con números consecutivos. Los superíndices
seguirán a los signos de puntuación, interrogación o exclamación.
4. CITAS Y REFERENCIAS
BIBLIOGRÁFICAS.
Para
el uso de citas y referencias bibliográficas, sígase el formato más
reciente del MLA.

enviadas por correo electrónico como documento adjunto a la siguiente dirección:

En el tema del correo, deberá indicarse
"AMERICAN@ -Otoño 2006."
