A New Editorial Phase for Enlightening Tourism. A Pathmaking Journal

Starting from January 2026, Enlightening Tourism. A Pathmaking Journal enters a new editorial phase aimed at strengthening its international visibility, scientific impact, and academic positioning within tourism and hospitality studies.

This renewed editorial direction, led by Prof. Mirko Perano (University of Salerno, Italy) and Prof. Elena García de Soto Camacho (University of Huelva, Spain) as Editors-in-Chief, will place increasing emphasis on methodological rigor, theoretical contribution, international relevance, and the capacity of published research to advance contemporary debates in the field.

In line with its international mission, Enlightening Tourism encourages contributions capable of addressing issues, perspectives, and debates of broad international relevance within tourism and hospitality studies. The journal particularly welcomes manuscripts that foster international scholarly dialogue, comparative perspectives, and collaborative research networks across different geographical and academic contexts.

The journal will also progressively introduce updated author guidelines and a redesigned article template in order to improve clarity, consistency, transparency, and international readability of published contributions.

Through this renewed editorial strategy, Enlightening Tourism aims to consolidate its role as an open, selective, and internationally oriented academic journal committed to high-quality research, ethical publishing standards, and meaningful contributions to the future of tourism studies.
