🌟Technical position (Engineer/Physicist) at University of Huelva (Spain)🌟

The Nuclear Physics Group of the University of Huelva (Spain) is offering a technical position for an Engineer/Physicist to work in the design study of the ISRS spectrometer (ISOLDE Superconducting Recoil Separator, www.uhu.es/isrs/), an innovative particle spectrometer for the ISOLDE facility at CERN (Geneva, Switzerland).

Requirements

Applicants should have a degree in physics or engineering. Experience in CAD design, structural calculations, thermo-mechanics, electromagnetism, automation, industrial installations will be of particular interest. The successful candidate will work in the development of superconducting magnets for the ISRS project, including the magnet test station and the ion test bench for future experiments.
The job will involve traveling to CERN and other research centres abroad; good communication and teamwork skills are required.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will join an international team of physicists and engineers and should play an active role on nuclear reactions simulations, experiments, and in the development of an ion test bench of superconducting magnets for the ISRS project. Results of the activity will be presented at collaboration meetings and international conferences.

Details

– Fixed-term contract until the end of December 2025.

– Expected start date: 1st February 2024.
