Its main objective is to provide integrated teaching of earth and environmental sciences in the research and management of mineral resources in a sustainable manner. The Master’s program provides specialization in the methodology and techniques applied to the study of mineral deposits and the analysis, control, and remediation of pollution related to active and abandoned mining through numerous field practices and internships in mining sector companies.
Students entering the Master’s program must have a basic background in geological and environmental aspects related to mineral resources. Graduates who fit this profile include those with degrees in Geology, Geological Engineering, and Mining Engineering. Other students with related degrees in environmental sciences, chemistry, physics, pharmacy, marine sciences, and other engineering fields are also eligible.
Career Opportunities: All related to mining research and exploration, geological exploitation of mineral resources, such as a technician in mining exploration and mine operation. Technician in the management and environmental analysis of active mining projects and in regions with old mining. As a researcher in the field of mineral deposit geology and environmental analysis in contaminated areas.
