Maria Elena Estrada Murcia graduated in Classical Philology at the University of Seville in June 2004. She has enjoyed apredoctoral research fellowship attached to the Departmento de Filologías Integradas, Latin Area, Faculty of Humanities, University of Huelva. She participates in the Research Group 'Nicolaus Heinsius' (HUM-261) from the University of Huelva, since 2007.

She has completed the Master's Degree Literature from Classical Antiquity to the Golden Age at the University of Huelva in which she presented the research work Collation of the manuscript S-III-19 of the Royal Monastery of San Lorenzo del Escorial. Ovid, Metamorphoses.

Elena Murcia participates in the following working groups for the Research Project of Ovid's Metamorphoses: the manuscript tradition and the printed tradition. She is also responsible for editing and textual commentary of Book VII (PhD thesis).
