University of Huelva International Week June 2026

The 2026 edition of our International Staff Week will be an enriching experience, with close to 80 guests from over 30 countries.

The five-day program has activities including:

  • Spanish language classes from beginner to conversation
  • Flamenco dance classes
  • Cultural excursion to a local heritage site (Rocio y Cuesta Maneli beach)
  • Study Abroad Fair
  • Pionner European University Alliance Festival
  • Networking Lunches
  • Happy Hour drink
  • Dinner with flamenco show and entertainment

Additionally, participants are given ample academic and training opportunities, including personalized meetings, lecture hours and campus tours to laboratories and/or specific faculties.

FAQs
  1. What is included in the program?
    All of the activities in the program are included, include lunch Monday through Thursday in the University Canteen next
    to the International Relations office.
  2. Do I have to participate in all the activities?
    Participants are expected to join the majority of the program, keeping in mind that we are organizing a week full of
    events that we hope are of interest to participants. Of course, we understand that some participants are travelling with
    others, and/or have simultaneous meetings with UHU staff. Please only sign up for activities you can attend! If you do
    sign up for an activity, cancellations should be communicated to the International Office.
  3. How do I let the International Relations office in Huelva know what activities I don’t want to attend?
    By filling out the Activities form (please ask for an updated link).
  4. Will I get a certificate of participation?
    Yes. All participants will get a certificate of participation prepared by the University of Huelva, issued on Thursday.
  5. What if my university has its own certificate of participation that I need signed?
    No problem - Just make sure to get us certificate when you arrive in Huelva.
  6. Can I meet with other departments at the University?
    Participants can indicate any department or faculty meetings they would like to have during the International Week.
    However, we ask participants to please keep in mind that not all departments have the language support necessary for
    these meetings, and meetings will be organized based on demand from participants and availability of staff in Huelva.
  7. What do I have to bring?
    If you plan to take the bus, please bring cash and coins, as public buses don’t accept cards. As a sustainable university,
    we encourage everyone to bring their own water bottles instead of using single-use plastics. Participants aren’t required
    to bring anything else, but are welcome to bring items or materials from their hometown or country to showcase their
    home university and culture.
  8. What if I don’t have any background or experience with Spanish language or dance? Can I still do the classes?
    Of course! These classes are specifically aimed towards beginners! Everyone and every level is welcome!
  9. Can my partner/spouse/friend/family participate in some or all of the activities?
    Participants in the IW have access to the full program of activities, morning and evening. Participants are allowed to
    pay a 50€ fee that will allow them to bring a +1 to the evening cultural activities.
  10. What do I have to wear for dance class?
    Comfortable clothes. The class will be held in our Open Air Classroom. Please bring water.
  11. Do I have to present my university?
    Participants are encouraged to present their university and themselves, during the Partner Networking Activity on
    Tuesday morning. Presentations can be via poster, pictures, or anything else visual but should not be digital.
  12. What if I miss registration?
    Just let us know and we will save your badge and welcome bag for later. If something unexpected comes up, just check
    in with us once you get here!
  13. Is there a WhatsApp group?
    Yes.
  14. Who will be participating?
    This year we have 55 participants joining us from 20 countries.
  15. Is there free WIFI on campus?
    Yes! instructions will be sent out in the WhatsApp group and shared again on the first day of the IW.
  16. How do I get to the University Campus from the city center?
    There are three main ways to get to the university: bus, taxi, or walking. The city is pretty flat, and with comfortable
    shoes, walking can take between 35 and 45 minutes.
    Taxis in Huelva have not always been reliable, but lately, there has been quite an improvement. While there is no Uber
    or Bolt, there is a new Taxi app very similar to these called FreeNow. The Taxi company in Huelva is Teletaxi (959 26
    1313/ 959 25 0022).
    The public bus company is EMTUSA. Remember, you cannot pay for the bus with a credit card.
