The Organising Committee and the Spanish and Portuguese Society for English Renaissance Studies (SEDERI) invite you to participate in the 24th International Conference, SEDERI 2013, which will be held in Huelva (Spain) on 13-15 March, 2013.The Conference theme revolves around ideas of mapping and charting that feature so prominently in the Early Modern period, a time of travel and discoveries. Besides taken in their literal, geographical meanings, these ideas may also encompass the linguistic concern with English in its varieties and contacts with other languages, and above all, in a wider sense addressing the multiple ways in which language shapes early modern minds and represents culture.The following plenary speakers have already confirmed their participation in the conference: oRichard Halpern (New York University)oWilly Maley (University of Glasgow)oSusan Wiseman (Birkbeck College, London)Papers should not exceed the 20-minute delivery, plus 10 minutes discussion. Abstracts, of up to 200 words, should be submitted by e-mail attachment (as .doc, .docx, .rtf, or .pdf files) to sederi24@dfing.uhu.es. Theyshould include name(s), institutional affiliation(s) of the author(s), post and e-mail address and the technical support required for the presentation. The deadline for submission of abstracts is December 20, 2012.Participants may also want to their own thematic panels to include papers delivered by 3 or 4 participants. Panel convenors should submit their proposal in broad observance of the criteria for individual proposals (title for panel and individual papers, a short general abstract and a two-hundred word abstract for each paper).
