4. For Authors

4.1 Before You Submit

Thank you for considering Enlightening Tourism. A Pathmaking Journal (ET) for the publication of your research.
Before submitting your manuscript, please ensure that your work falls within the journal's Aims and Scope and complies with all editorial, ethical and formatting requirements. Authors are strongly encouraged to carefully read the following information before beginning the submission process.

4.2 Download Templates

To facilitate manuscript preparation and ensure compliance with the journal's formatting requirements, authors are strongly encouraged to use the official journal templates. The templates are available on the dedicated Templates and Author Guidelines page of the journal website and can also be downloaded directly using the links below.

4.3 Manuscript Preparation

All submissions must comply with the journal formatting requirements. The manuscript should:

  • be written in clear academic English;
  • be submitted in Microsoft Word (.docx);
  • be fully anonymized for double-blind peer review;
  • include title, abstract and keywords;
  • follow the official ET formatting style;
  • include figures and tables in editable format whenever possible.

4.4 Ethical Requirements

Authors must ensure that:

  • the manuscript is original;
  • it is not under consideration elsewhere;
  • all authors have approved the submission;
  • conflicts of interest are disclosed;
  • funding sources are reported;
  • ethical approval has been obtained where required.

The journal follows the principles and best practices promoted by COPE.

4.5 AI and Generative Technologies

The journal permits the responsible use of artificial intelligence tools exclusively as writing support.
Authors must disclose any substantial use of generative AI in accordance with the journal's AI Policy.
Artificial intelligence tools cannot be listed as authors.

4.6 Before Final Submission

Before clicking "Submit", please verify that:

  • The manuscript follows the ET template.
  • The manuscript has been anonymized (the manuscript has been fully anonymized, including both the document content and the file metadata. Please remove all authors’ names, affiliations, acknowledgements, and other identifying information. In Microsoft Word, right-click the file, select “Properties,” open the “Details” tab, and remove all personal information before uploading).
  • The Title Page has been uploaded separately.
  • ORCID identifiers have been provided in the Authors and co-Authors journal profile, in the metadata and in the title page file.
  • Figures and tables are correctly numbered.
  • References comply with the journal style.
  • All metadata entered in OJS are complete and accurate (all metadata entered in OJS are complete and accurate. Please ensure that all co-authors are added to the submission metadata and that their names, affiliations, email addresses, ORCID identifiers, and other required details are entered correctly).

4.7 Editorial Process

All manuscripts undergo:

  1. Initial editorial screening;
  2. Desk evaluation by the Editors-in-Chief;
  3. Assignment to an Associate Editor;
  4. Double-blind peer review;
  5. Editorial decision;
  6. Copyediting and production.
